The Eastern Waste Management Authority Inc (East Waste) was originally established in 1928 as the East Torrens Municipal Destructor Trust.
Today, East Waste is a regional subsidiary of the Adelaide Hills Council, the City of Burnside, Campbelltown City Council, the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters, the City of Mitcham and the Corporation of the Town of Walkerville, established pursuant to Section 43 of the Local Government Act 1999.
The Authority's primary purpose is to provide the effective collection and disposal of waste for our Constituent and Client Councils, while realising the efficiency gains attainable via the operation of a regional subsidiary.
