About East Waste.

Eastern Waste. management authority inc.

The Eastern Waste Management Authority Inc (East Waste) was originally established in 1928 as the East Torrens Destructor Trust.

Today, East Waste is a regional subsidiary of the Adelaide Hills Council, the City of Burnside, Campbelltown City Council, the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters, the City of Mitcham and the Corporation of the Town of Walkerville, established pursuant to Section 43 of the Local Government Act 1999.

The Authority’s primary purpose is to provide the effective collection and disposal of waste for our Constituent and Client Councils, while realising the efficiency gains attainable via the operation of a regional subsidiary.

The Authority operates the three bin collection system, household waste, dry recyclables and green organics, with five of the Constituent Councils and one Client Council, while operating a split bin collection service for one Constituent Council
